Computerized study of the feet

Through an informative system we examine your footprint and analise your biomechanics whilst walking.

Through this modern diagnostic technique and our advanced knowledge of biomechanics, we can determine the origen of diverse pathologies and discomfort on a muscular and articular level which may affect the foot, knee, hip or vertebral column etc.

After performing this study a personalised orthotic (insole) is designed to treat and correct the presenting cause of the problem or discomfort.

Orthopaedic podiatry

Once the study is completed we then procede with the in house fabrication of the insoles or orthotics which are made to measure depending on the patient´s needs. There are different types:

  • Comfort: these are designed for people who have a specific point of pain in the foot. They help to discharge the pressure giving pain relief
  • For sport people: these help to increase the benefits of their chosen sport and help to avoid lesions, and so on
  • Neuroproprioceptive insoles (posturology): the idea is to stimulate neuromuscular receptors in the foot, thus producing a postural equilibrium which help to correct problems in the back including the muscles and articulations

Experts in minimal incision podiatry

Through the most recent advances in surgery and the use of the latest technological aparatus, such as the fluoroscope, makes minimal incision surgery possible. The key to minimal incision surgey is the use of the fluoroscope, a radiological (x-ray) aparatus that permits the surgeon to visualise in every moment during the intervention the work being carried out. This way the surgery can be performed through a cut of just a few milimetres, avoiding a larger cut/scar

Minimal incision techniques, also called minimal invasive surgery, allows us to operate on the foot through an incision of just 2-3 milimetres.

The advantages of this method are:

  • Local anesthetic. No need of a general anesthetic or an epidural
  • Hemostasis is not used, avoiding associated risks
  • A smaller scar
  • Lesser risk of infections and improved healing of scars
  • More aesthetic scars, practically invisible to the eye
  • Less damage to the soft-tissues
  • Reduced or no post-operative pain due to a lesser aggression on the tissues
  • Does not require screws or needles (osteosinthesis materials). Just the use of a special bandage and a post-operative boot which allows immediate weight-bearing and walking
  • Post-operative care: no hospitalization is required, the patient can walk home
  • Fast recuperation
  • The patient returns to normal daily activity almost immediately avoiding, in many cases, the necessity to be off work

What are the most common pathologies that are appropriate for this surgery?:

  • Bunions or Hallux Valgus
  • Claw toes or hammertoes
  • Tailor´s bunion
  • Heel spur
  • Metatarsalgia or pain in the joint at the base of the toe
  • Morton´s toe or Morton´s neuroma
